Yesterday was the final of the Champions league between AC Milan and Liverpoof FC. I usually don't care very much about european games when Lyon is not playing but I had to watch the final and my dad and I really like Liverpool. After a first half where Milan scored 3 times I started thinking that game wouldn't be interresting at all and then Liverpool scored just after half time.... and then a second time... and a third time.... unbelievable !!. finally the two teams went to overtime but no one could score again. All players were exhausted, half of them had cramps but they kept playing. I think people can think what they want about football players, that they cheat, that they are good actors, etc... when you see that kind of game where everyone go over his limits, it makes you forget your bad opinion about them. Finally Liverpool won after the penalty shots and earned another European cup after last year's UEFA cup. Looks like the pride of the city of Liverpool is back :)

Brave Warriors On 2005-05-20 15:03
A short notice about the brave warriors, one is in Lyon (Scott), and one just got married (Lone). It is very nice to see Scott again. We went to La Passagere yesterday and might do Johnny walshes pubquizz on Sunday. Lone sent us an email today with some pictures of her wedding, this is so nice, looked like a fantastic day for the new Mrs Mortensen :) Choucroute & Riesling On 2005-05-17 19:00
Man, that was a nice week end in Alsace with all the family, everyone enjoyed it a lot and it would have been even better if the weather wasn't cloudy. It could have been worse anyway. We went to Colmar on Saturday and then to the Haut-Koenigsbourg Castle on Sunday morning. Sunday afternoon we visited two typical Alsacian villages, Kaysersberg and Riquewihr. Finally on Monday we walked a bit in Obernai. It was nice to see everyone again after so a so long time. Pictures are posted here. Now I am looking forward to Scott coming to Lyon on Thursday :) Liver warm up On 2005-05-12 09:04
Well the not so interresting day at IARC ended up ok thanks to the wine they served at lunch time as usual. The hard part was then to take Dave, Neela's friend, to La Passagere for a few drinks. Was cool and the weather was good though. Then we went to diner to Charles' new girlfriend restaurant... Ok this is not really her restaurant, and she's not really Charles' girlfriend, but well, could have been. I feel like shit today, and I have to meet dave for a drink at 6pm. That will be tough. Then I'll need to pack things up cause I'm getting up early again tomorrow to go t Alsace for the big familly meeting. I will post pictures of the week end somewhere :) Happy Birthday IARC ! Yesterday and Today is celebrated the 40th anniversary of IARC. The former Director used to make that day a party where everyone could drink, even dance sometimes, and celebrate. This year I don't feel very welcome to the celebrations. Yesterday they turned the day into a classic tuesday with seminars where everyone had to badge in and out of the auditorium. Today there are many guests and there is no doubt that if you want to attend the talks by the Prefet or the Mayor of Lyon, you will need to stand up because it seems they didn't think before inviting all these guests that we might run out of space. I don't think I will stand up the whole day... Happy birthday anyway. Champions ! On 2005-05-09 00:35
Photos of Lyon On 2005-05-08 15:05
Recently I tried to go around Lyon and make some nice pictures. I was thinking I could use some of them as posters to decorate my flat but I guess I didn't go on the right time and except of couple of them, they don't look so good. Anyway I looked around on the internet and found this site where 2 photographs who love their city decided to publish the pictures they take during their early morning walks in the streets of Lyon. I really enjoyed the website so I thought you might want to have a look. Champions ? On 2005-05-08 10:30
New Design On 2005-05-05 17:39:00
As everyone noticed, the layout changed a lot recently, mainly because after a bad move, I accidentaly deleted the main file so I had to make another one. After thinking about it, I ended up with this one which will bring back the shoutbox that some people seemed to like a lot :) The sad news is that Vishwa and Eiko left to Japan, they are going back to Hiroshima which is pretty sad but probably better for them. Next week I am going to Alsace for a big familly meeting with a lot of people and barrils of wine O_o, I'll take pictures of them :). I hope the weather will be alright so we can visit some places. Nothing else really important, next week is governing council and IARC 40th anniversary, should be nice. I think that's it for now, have to go home and get some rest cause I pulled a muscle in my back while playing football yesterday and I can hardly turn my head again. Will give more news soon. |
